BANCOURT HOTEL after 2017 fire TORQUAY
Description
Fire-hit Torquay hotel to be knocked down to make way for a luxury care home
The fire-hit Bancourt hotel in Torquay is to be redeveloped as a luxury care home with 'studio' apartments costing up to £100,000 each. The hotel has been closed since it was damaged by a fire in the spring of 2017.
It has most recently been used for police dog training.
The Bancourt, in Avenue Road, has been bought by the Care Home Group, who have announced the purchase on their website as their second property purchase of 2018.
It will become a luxury care 'resort' of around 45 apartments for long and short-term residents. People living at the new Bancourt House care home will have the option of having 24-hour care.
