Born in Manchester, England in July 1918, Brenda Milner is widely credited with pioneering the field of cognitive neuroscience and has been called one of the world’s foremost authorities on memory. For over 60 years she has contributed immeasurably to our understanding of the inner workings of the brain, and though well into her nineties she continues to teach and conduct research at the Montreal Neurological Institute.
