'Hyperactive sunspot' unleashes multiple X and M flares - Spacecraft see it!
Description
Sunspot AR3663 has been incredibly active with multiple X and M-class flares on May 5-6, 2024. The latest on May 6 was a powerful X4.5-class solar flare, one of the largest of the year.
NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the fireworks.
