Description
Meet Dipak Srinivasan, a communications systems engineer for the Europa Clipper spacecraft, NASA’s mission to explore Europa, a moon of Jupiter believed to have a vast ocean beneath its icy surface.
Having worked on Europa Clipper’s communications system for twelve years at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, Dipak shares the root of his inspiration — to contribute to the vast knowledge bank about this intriguing ocean world. Outside of work, he plays the trumpet for the Johns Hopkins Symphony Orchestra, blending engineering with art.
Europa Clipper is set to launch in October 2024 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It will arrive at Jupiter in 2030. The mission is managed by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, with key spacecraft infrastructure contributions from the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland.
