Plan for huge laser ‘to attract Extraterrestrials to Earth’

Stephen Hawking warned that messaging aliens was a really terrible idea – similar to putting up a sign saying, ‘ATTACK HERE’.
​But scientists from MIT say that we could use existing laser technology to create a ‘beacon’ which could be seen by aliens up to 20,000 light years away.
