SpaceX Crew-5 Dragon trunk creates spectacular fireball during re-entry, skywatchers see it
Description
A fireball was spotted by several skywatchers in the United States on April 27, 2023 and reported to the American Meteor Society (AMS). The fireworks were created by the re-entry of SpaceX's Crew-5 Dragon's trunk that was jettisoned prior to the spacecraft's return to Earth.
In a statement to Colorado news station KKTV 11, SpaceX advised that if you come across any debris, "you shouldn’t touch it and contact the SpaceX Debris Hotline at 1-866-623-0234 or email recovery@spacex.com."
