Strange glowing red light in clouds over Alberta, Canada

Witness States: "Recorded this last night, the red flashing lights, which I've never seen before and definitely would have noticed in the past, did not flash with any pattern.. random flashing. You could see it with the naked eye but did not record on my cell phone video nicely. It did show up in the standard camera so, I took another camera and recorded my S9 screen so you can see the light flashing. It last for about an hour and then faded and stopped."
