Sun blasts big X1-class solar flare, spacecraft sees it

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured an X1.1-class solar flare in mulitiple wavelengths on Feb. 11, 2023. See time-lapse footage of the blast that caused "a strong shortwave radio blackout over South America," according to Spaceweather.com.
