Tons of Earth-size planets could be waiting to be discovered in binary star systems
Description
The glare of binary stars makes it hard to detect Earth-size planets that they may harbor. A new study using the International Gemini Observatory and the WIYN 3.5-meter Telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory suggests that "nearly half of the Earth-sized planets" could be undiscovered, according to NSF's NOIRLab.
