The Starlink Group 4-16 mission, launched by SpaceX, will carry 53 Starlink satellites atop a Falcon 9 rocket. The Falcon 9 rocket will take off from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA. Starlink Group 4-16 will be the 42nd operational Starlink mission, bringing the total number of Starlink satellites launched to 2,441, with 2,203 remaining in orbit around the Earth after launch. Starlink Group 4-16 will be the 13th launch to the fourth Starlink shell; about 30 launches are needed to populate this shell.
SpaceX's internet connectivity satellite constellation is known as Starlink. The low-Earth orbit satellite network will provide fast, low-latency internet connectivity to areas where ground-based internet is unreliable, unavailable, or prohibitively expensive. The constellation's initial phase consists of five orbital shells.
