X2.8! Sun blasts most powerful flare since 2017, spacecraft sees it
Description
NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured an X2.8-class solar flare and a pair of m-flares that preceded it in multiple wavelengths on Dec. 14, 2023. It was the biggest flare since an X9.3 flare in Sept. 2017.
